Northern Area leagues see shifts as Marmonte splits, Pacific View loses Camarillo
SANTA BARBARA — What seemed destined became all but official Monday: The Northern Area releaguing meeting served up a new look for county leagues.
After a 4½hour meeting at Bishop Diego High, athletic administrators settled on a proposal authored by Agoura High that revamps the Marmonte League, reduces the Pacific View League by one member and retains the status quo for the Channel League.
Several key changes now loom ahead for area schools in the CIF-Southern Section’s next four-year releaguing cycle that runs from 2014 through 2018:
The Marmonte League splits in two and adds Camarillo and Oak Park to its current eight members.
